Which Linux Image options is right for my architecture?

My PC is has an AMD 6000 CPU. Here are the image options for the distribution that I want to download:

[alpha][arm][hppa][i386][ia64][m68k][mips][mipsel][powerpc][sparc][s390][source]

Depends on a few things...

Which Linux distro are you looking at and is this going to be a server or desktop installation?

That looks like you're wanting to install debian (iirc, that's the page that lists those types in that manner.)

Can I clarify if you mean the 12 core Opteron AMD or an older Athlon 6000 Windsor X2?

Either way, you'll want the amd64 option, which I don't see you listed.
