Two separate servers slaving dns for each other?
I have a couple of ip's that I can use so I figured that I would actually set up two servers to have an ns1 and an ns2. What I would like is to manually set customers up on either server, and when they create dns records, they get automatically slaved to the other server. So this gives me a little more room to spread out while maintaining two dns servers.
So some folks will have their web sites and master dns on "ns1" and then other folks will have their web sites and master dns on" ns2", but both servers are secondaries for each other. I am not looking to replicate the user accounts or anything else.
I'd like this done automatically so that changes can be made without my intervention.
Not being familiar with bind yet, can zone files just be synced between the two; and if so, can bind be automatically restarted/refreshed upon seeing changes?
I am new to ispconfig and I am not an expert with Ubuntu. Having said that, if I am told what to do, I can get it done.
That's no problem with BIND - take a look at http://www.howtoforge.com/traditional_dns_howto_p8
