enabled TLS on pureftp now want SSL on sites
hello everyone
Just a very quick question, I have enabled TLS on pureftp to secure it. Next I was thinking of SSL for ISPC3 control panel and then SSL for squirrelmail. But reading alot of posts, I realise only 1 cert per 1 IP limitation. Does this mean as I have secured ftp I can't secure any website while using a single IP ?? Thanks in advance |
You can use your website with SSL, but just one website per IP. Thats the limitation of the SSL protocol. The ispconfig controlpanel runs on a different prt, so it can be secured beside one of your websites.

Thanks very much Till.
I know I said a quick question, but from your reply now I have another question :) if I change the website port from 80 does that mean I can have as many secured site ?? eg. change port of squirrelmail as well ?? Thanks again |
Yes, you can run ssl certificates based on the port, but you will have to add the port then always in the url and you have to create these vhosts manually outside of ispconfig as you can not specify the port in ispconfig.

Thank you very much for that till. as always you have answered all my questions.
