Postfix Problem

I have my dns setup and I am able to browse to the squirrelmail login page. I am not able to login using the account I have created in ISPconfig3.

I add an email domian mydomain.com
I add a mailbox bch@mydomain.com
I give the user a password. when I get to the login screen I am unable to login.
Do i need to assign the email domain to a client?

Is the username bch or bch@mydomain.com

No luck

Does the email domain need to be assigned to a client?
If it is not assinged to a client does that mean it is assigned to the "admin" user?

what ports must I have forwarded in my router other than 25.. if any?
