Ubuntu 8.04 32bit acpi issue on boot.

okay I have a Sony AR-390E and whenever I use quiet splash and 15% of the time without quiet. I have combed the Ubuntu forums to no avail. Just about ready to go back to 7.10. Can anyone help me before I have to backstep?

I'm sorry, but I don't understand the problem. Can you describe it in more detail?

jiggleo 19th September 2008 21:21

yes, whenever booting with quiet splash enabled it will lock up on an acpi issue. I don't remember what error number it gave me but it does say the acpi timed out. It will not boot and freezes. I don't know quite what else to say. wow I guess I did forget to add the symptoms.
