Setting Up A FreeRadius Based AAA Server With MySQL & Management With Daloradius

Getting this 'no installation candidate' error when I try to install:
Quote:

Package libmysqlclient-dev is a virtual package provided by:
libmysqlclient15-dev 5.0.51a-3ubuntu5.1
You should explicitly select one to install
any ideas?

Install libmysqlclient15-dev instead of libmysqlclient-dev.

BTW, the tutorial was written for CentOS, so you might have to adjust a few other things.

thx. I already installed that in a previous step.

I'm working on
http://how2forge.net/setting-up-a-fr...ith-daloradius

which is an adaption for Ubuntu.
Is there anything else I should look out for?
I'm trying to replace an ancient Cistron installation that is dying but still authenticating about 50 dialup users.

Replacing Cistron with freeradius !

hey there herbie,

There are 3 articles on freeradius

The basic one. i.e. without mysql but has eap/ttls howto (which applies to other 2 as well) this one is for freeradius 1.7.x (which is still support with security fixes)
http://www.howtoforge.com/wifi-authe...ius-on-centos5

This one is with ubuntu 8.04 LTS , Freeradius 1.7.x + Mysql + Daloradius
http://how2forge.net/setting-up-a-freeradius-based-aaa-server-with-mysql-and-management-with-daloradius

This one is with centos 5.x , Freeradius 2.0.5 + Mysql + Daloradius
http://www.howtoforge.com/authentication-authorization-and-accounting-with-freeradius-and-mysql-backend-and-webbased-management-with-daloradius

Just look out for typos. rest should work out fine hopefully.

Good Luck
