Hard drive partitions question
 

Hi, I'm thinking about installing openSUSE in a dualboot setup with Windows xp which is currently installed. I know that during the Linux installation process I will configure how much space from my current hard drive that I want to partition for Linux. My question is, once it is installed and everthing, when I boot into linux, will I only be able to see files on the linux partition, and vice versa when I boot into windows.

Sorry if this is a stupid question...

One more thing, whats a good standard size HD partition to set up for linux?

You can see and access your Windows partitions from Linux, but not the other way round.

I'd use at least 10GB. The more, the better. ;)

From your linux installation you can see the files from windows partition
and you need to install at your windows a ext2 - ext3 drive so you can
access the files from your linux partition.

Dont forget you need at least 2 partition the root and the swap partition
