Pure-FTPd configuration

I am on a dynamic IP address for the time being, and I need a way for the server to send the correct IP address back. Since the connection is dynamic, I am going to use the hostname. What configuration file do I need to create in the Debian Lenny system?

I have a feeling that it needs to be place in /etc/pure-ftpd/conf directory, but I have not been able to track it down. Any help?

Hello, in my servers i see all files in harddrive using the system(); command in php.
using fast-cgi and secure server settings.

Is this normal?

flv lighttpd streaming flowplayer

The player play the flv video, but my realplayer download read the flv file and ask me to save it....

i'm asking ....where is the streaming, if i can download the file!? :confused:

Most Stable Combo of Debian/ISPConfig 3

Hey all. I'm having too hard of a time getting my fresh install of ISPConfig working on my Debian system, so I'm just gonna do a freshy.

I was using Debian 5.0.3 with ISPConfig 3.0.1.6 and during install I got a lot of "Can't find packages" so I had to --fix-missing the bulk of my install.... what would be the most stable Debian version to install ISPConfig on, and what version of ISPConfig3?

ipop3d keeps crashing the last days

For some reason my "ipop3d" keeps crashing the last couple of days.
I've had a look in the log files, but till now I do not see any reason why!

Is there an easy way (command) to start ipop3d again?
I can not find anything close to this in /etc/init.d/

Anyone here who might also know why this could suddenly happen?
Traffic is not more than usual, and no "big" changes are made to the server.

Sites folders with root owner

Hi,

I have ispconfig 3.0.1.6 and ubuntu 9.04

I was trying to add new domain after some time and all web folders (web, ssl, tmp etc) are with root owner instead client/group. Of course this cause forbidden when i'm trying to access the page.
Someone else encounter this problem? Or what to check to see why folders have owner root. Also in web_domain table system_user and system_group are ok.

And, for new ftp user i can't login. For old users all is ok.

MySQL socket missing

Hi all. I posted earlier on a problem I was having and I think I found the real issue. Under "show services" I get "My-SQL Server offline" and "SMTP-Mail server offline"

When the services first try to start, this is the first error message
"Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock'"

my.cnf is pointing it to path above, but there is no mysqld.sock there... neither is the PID. I followed the tutorial (Perfect Server Debian 5.0 ISPConfig 3) I thought to a tee, went back over it and saw no mention of these files. What am I missing?

NTFS support on RHEL4 Update 8

I believe I have everything necessary installed however ntfs-3g can't find the fuse module because apparently it's not loaded. I think I have all the packages installed below.....Any help would be greatly appreciated..Thanks

Problem with "The Perfect Server - Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex (Ubuntu 8.10)"

I am having an issue following "The Perfect Server - Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex (Ubuntu 8.10)" on Page 4 when setting up the DNS server. At the very end of that section it says to: Start up BIND, and check /var/log/syslog for errors.

Well, I have an error in there that I'm not sure how to handle:
couldn't open pid file '/var/run/bind/run/named.pid': No such file or directory
exiting (due to early fatal error)

Porting Squirrelmail to Ubuntu 9.10

This has got to have a simple answer but so far I've got nothing...

I've had Squirrelmail running on a Ubuntu for a few years and under OS X before that. I just upgraded the server from 7.10 by installing 9.10 on a new hard disk on spare hardware, copied web, shared files and other configurations over, then moved the disk onto server hardware.

I had to edit a script (not related to squirrelmail) that didn't work under the new BASH version, but everything else except Squirrelmail works. I installed the LAMP-SERVER^ package, but when I try to access Squirrelmail I get:
ERROR: Config file "config/config.php" not found. You need to configure SquirrelMail before you can use it.

Ok, time to run configtest. I get:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_location() in /usr/share/squirrelmail/src/configtest.php on line 46

It would seem a module isn't loaded or properly configured, but I haven't been able to find anything. It's obviously got the right path since it found the configtest.php file.

Any ideas? I will except that I am missing something very obvious, wouldn't be the first time.

ISPConfig 3.0.1.6 client can change ip in sites

Hi!
I'm wondering if this is bug or not ?
If i assign mor than one IP address to the server in system menu, and configure domain.tld to one ot these addresses ewerything looks fine.
But enduser (client - not admin or reseller) after login into ispconfig panel can change IP in sites menu to one of assigned earlier addresses.
If he do that, his site is no longer visible (if he chande IP to other than * of course)

Did I omit something ?

My daughters school is looking for Terminal Server

Hi there,

My daughters school is planning to invest in new IT-System, and the local M$ Dealer is doing a huge sales effort to get the order.

As a Linux fan I would like to suggest an alternative where they are installing Linux in stead of M$ products.

They are quite keened on the Terminal Server solution. The M$ Solution with RDP is good, I must admit, as this will give the ability to let the students use their own laptops.

They have a need of approx 150 thin clients, and therefore they are looking for a quite serious server :D

I can't figure how to implement a LTSP Server with RDP, and therefore im looking for a Virtualbox solution. But 150 VM's sounds like ALOT to me.

Anyone got a suggestion?

upgrade/update php

My customer is asking me to upgrade from php 5.1.x to 5.2.x as his site is requesting it to run vbullettin.

I am running CENTOS 5.2. Can I just run a yum update for php or not? Will this create problems with ispconfig?
