i spent a few hours last night trying to access the mail user account. I activated the option mailuser yet :
https://www.nt.coolshots.be:81/tst2/
does not work (the username and real username are both tst2),
to access the admin page :
https://www.nt.coolshots.be:81/
does work,
I use version 2.2.9 yet my server sits on a dmz so does nat to another address. yet for all purposes this seems to work properly.
many thanks for any advise in this matter,
best regards,
Herwig

The access is:

Do not replace the word mailuser with the username.

You must use the email address for login and not the username.

Is your POP3 server running? What's the output of netstat -tap?
Did you enable the mailuser login for that web site in ISPConfig?

Users can never login with their username to the mailuser login, they can only login with their email address.
Does pop3 works on your server when you login with webmail?

I think the problem might be that Courier is using IPv6 instead of IPv4. Can you change that?

In http://www.howtoforge.com/forums/showthread.php?p=57281#post57281 you posted a solution (I was thrashing about in a couple of threads, including starting a new one). The solution in http://www.howtoforge.com/forums/showthread.php?p=57281#post57281 worked perfectly. I can POP from Outlook/Outlook express and use webmail. I like roundcube's interface better, but there are issues with it's performance (primarily it expires the session too quickly and randomly).
Thanks for your help!

Hi!
Iīm on ubuntu edgy version. I have followed the "perfect server setup", and been able to configure an smtp relay since my ISP is blocking port 25.
I have followed this thread as far as i understand, but i havent been able to change Postfix and Courier to only use IPv4. I didnīt find any setting in the config files to change it.
Problem description:
I have activated mailuser login i ISP-C, but my testuser cant login to lellel.net:81/mailuser with the mailadress test@lellel.net, but he can login with web1_test (the username).
When i log in to test@lellel.net in lellel.net:81/webmail i can log in with mailadress, and i can send emails out to gmail and other external mailservers.
However, when the mail arrives at gmail, and i look on the "from" field, it says it was sent from "web1_test@lellel.net" not from "test@lellel.net"...
I hope you skilled guys can help me find a solution for this problem.. =)
Cheers, Lellel

Hi,
your problems have nothing to do with IPv4 or IPv6.
I have activated mailuser login i ISP-C, but my testuser cant login to lellel.net:81/mailuser with the mailadress test@lellel.net, but he can login with web1_test (the username).
Please make sure that the website www.lellel.net has a co-domain lellel.net (with empty hostname).
However, when the mail arrives at gmail, and i look on the "from" field, it says it was sent from "web1_test@lellel.net" not from "test@lellel.net"...
You must change the sending address under options in the webmail client.

And you didn't replace the string "mailuser" with a username in the URL? Because it must be "mailuser", not anything else.
Do you get to the login scree when you use http://lellel.net:81/mailuser/ or http://www.lellel.net:81/mailuser/?
I've just tested, http://lellel.net:81/mailuser/ is working for me.

I really appreciate your help!
Yes, the url: http://lellel.net:81/mailuser/ works perfectly fine. My problem is that, when i try to login as a mailuser with the mailadress for instance test@lellel.net i get the error code "unknown user" (but in swedish ;) )
But if i try to login with the username, web1_test, i can login. If I have understand it right, the users are supposed to login with their mailadress - not the username.

No, for the mailuser interface you need the username, not the email address.

ok, I am a little new to this but I have successfully set up two ISPConfig servers up The primary server is the one I am using at this point. It is set up using Perfect setup OpenSuse10.1 -this server is ns1.abilenecomputer.net
I have a website hosted (www.caofabilene.com)and have yet to figure out POP3 access. I have set up a test mail account. User:web14_test email:test@caofabilene.com password:test
I have been able to reach http://www.caofabilene.com:81/mailuser/login/index.php and when I try and login with web14_test , I get: Error: Could not get login password entry response
I have tried to login with just test and the email address, test@caofabilene.com as well as just test (trying everything) and I get Error: Unknown User.
I am using Outlook and have set the Incoming and Outgoing mail servers as www.caofabilene.com and it comes up with the following errors:
Outlook could not connect to the incoming POP3 mailserver because the mailserver did not accept your user name or password.
Error: The specified server was found, but there was no response from the server.
Can you help me with this?

Have you sent an email to that user before you tried to log in? Maildir is created when the first email arrives. It's possible you couldn't log in because Maildir didn't exist yet.
You're the third one today having problems with OpenSuSE 10.2 (although everyone's problems were different). Maybe it's a sign to use a different distribution? ;)

I think the problem might be that Courier is using IPv6 instead of IPv4. Can you change that?
"Error: Could not get login password entry response"
I am having the same exact problem, my courier is IPV6 enabled. I started by disabling IPV6 in Postfix, but now I can't figure nor find how to disable the IPV6 support in Courier. (Only thing I found is how not to enable it during configure) Any pointers would be appreciated.
By the way, I am using Debian Etch.

I also had this Error: Could not get login password entry response
Solved by going to Management -> server -> settings -> email and set Maildir = on
then login with username (not email) an password.
