apache customization

I'm wondering how I can customize the build of apache,
or more specifically what specific options are required for
me to not kill ispconfig?

If it's just php5 as a loadable module, great. It seems to be using the system binary for
apache anyway.

ISPConfig uses the apache binary from your system to host the customer websites. You can add any modules you like.
