I'm following the guide here. http://www.howtoforge.com/ubuntu_lamp_torrentflux_vmware_p3

when it says mysqladmin -u root -p password <YourNewPassword> I do that and it the console returnsL access is denyed for root@localhost (using password:YES)

What can I do to fix this.

Have you set a mysql root password before?

no I hadn't I actually got it I searched around on the boards and found out how and got it all working, thanks.
