I just installed my pc with debian and compiled new kernel etc...
I saw a nice feature XGL with compiz

It looks so great!!

It took me 2 days to get some results, it seems my graphics card does not have all required features..to use the cube.

If you dare it's very nice to give it a try.
And maybe start a howto..:D

i know some of the cool stuff that the XGL does is UNREAL
and i mean its blows the socks off ya ..

maybe in 2 or 3 months .. i will try to do something on the XGL ... but ... i need to get all my junk off my good pc n have a week tv free .. before i play around with it :)

trying on suse 10.2 ATM
and its evil lol

i just ****** up an clean install OS ...
but i did get it to work with easy on fedora core 6 with beryl .. 10 min job ... nice and easy

I use AiGLX and Beryl on Ubuntu :) it's actually very simple to get it running :)

i did an reinstall of the OS and got it to work
but ******* its SLOW to load up on startup
fedora it would take about 20 - 30 secs
but its like an min or two before its loads
but its about 20 to 30 mins to get it installed n working
but its not that bad

but its only like 0.1.4 its running
i had 0.2 BETA on fedora :) its easy
once you worked it out on the OS your using lol

you also may want to have a look at E17 (Enlightment)... it's also quite nice I think...

However I normally use just my standard Xfce :)

but the real qus i gotta work out
is can i run it on my old geforce 2 mx 100/200 card lol
64 mb :)
if so i will be happy ( thats the one i got in my workstation i use all the time)

but i will look for that :)
