I have installed a new server that I planned to use for OpenVZ. The server has been setup as a part of an existing multiserver setup.
The server is a HP Proliant DL380 with 4 NIC's running and running Debian Lenny.
I have followed the guides that I can find, but once I create a VM it reports "Start command has been sent to the VM host server. It may take a minute until the VM is started.".
I waited 5 min and did a "vzlist -a" but got :
vm1:/var/lib/vz/template/cache# vzlist -a
VEID NPROC STATUS IP_ADDR HOSTNAME
In the OS Template I am using : debian-5.0-i386-minimal.
I have debian-5.0-i386-minimal.tar.gz in /var/lib/vz/template/cache
What have I missed or did not due since they are not started?

Did you install your server as described here for openvz incl. the download of the images and changes in ISPConfig?
http://www.howtoforge.com/installing-openvz-plus-management-of-vms-through-ispconfig-3-debian-6.0
The only difference for a multiserver setup is that you choose to join a existing ispconfig master server when the ispconfig installer asks you in expert mode.

I followed that guide but with the change on installing vzdump as this is not a part of Debian Lenny.
I still get the same problem with the VM not being setup on the server.

Ok, but then I have a new problem.
Out of the 6 servers I have running only a few shows like this :
Server: ns2.superweb.dk (Debian Lenny)
ISPConfig 3.0.4.1
State: info (0 unknown, 0 info, 1 warning, 0 critical, 0 error)
More information...
The remaining shows like this :
Server: vm1.superweb.dk
State: ok (0 unknown, 0 info, 0 warning, 0 critical, 0 error)
More information...
This results in I cannot get the log.

This means that the permissions in mysql are wrong. Install the ispconfig update on the affected slaves again and select to reconfigure database permissions in the master database.

I have done that a few times and testet mysql for the user from the file /usr/local/ispconfig/interface/lib/config.inc.php - there is no problem with the user to connect to the master.

I noticed that when I change to debug for the server running OpenVZ i keep getting this in the "System log":
2012-01-29 19:00 vm1.superweb.dk Debug Found 47 changes, starting update process.
2012-01-29 19:00 vm1.superweb.dk Debug Set Lock: /usr/local/ispconfig/server/temp/.ispconfig_lock
2012-01-29 18:59 vm1.superweb.dk Debug Found 47 changes, starting update process.
2012-01-29 18:59 vm1.superweb.dk Debug Set Lock: /usr/local/ispconfig/server/temp/.ispconfig_lock
