What's the difference between Wine and CrossoverOffice? They seem to be very similar, but Wine is free whereas CrossoverOffice costs a few dollars.

CrossoverOffice is based on Wine, it's a fork with lots of improvements that make it definitely worth a try (it's not too expensive) and can save you a lot of trouble.

To expand on tylerdurden (member.php?u=5) reply you could say that CrossoverOffice is a pre-configured Wine with extra features. Codeweavers is the manufacturers of CrossoverOffice and are the number one company behind the Wine development in terms of money and supplying technological advances to the Wine Project. Codeweavers also has the money to provide testing of the Windows based software and has a List of tested/supported software - http://www.codeweavers.com/products/cxoffice/supported_apps/
