I have never used linux/unix before and one thing I can't find an answer for has to do with tar files.
The ISPConfig instructions say:
Log in to your shell as root.
Unpack the ISPConfig-archive
tar xvfz ISPConfig*.tar.gz
and my question is, does it matter where the tar file is before it it unpacked?
Right now, I FTP the file to my user directory /home/newbee and then extract the file there. Is this ok? Or, should it go somewhere else?
Thanks.
