Configure POP and SMTP: accessible outside

Hello,

I have already configured and currently running mail system in a small office. Now my boss wants to get his mail even if he is not in the office, so I configure a webmail so that he can access the mails anywhere . But what he wants to use an email client (MS Outlook, Thunderbird) to do it.

So basically I have a websever(apache) and mail server (postfix) in one machine. for example www.mydomain.com is my domain.

So what I really want is to create incoming.mydomain.com for pop and outgoing.mydomain.com for smtp accessible outside my network so that he can send and received mails anywhere

Guys, I have no idea where to start.

You must create DNS records for incoming.mydomain.com and outgoing.mydomain.com that point to your server's public IP address. If your server is behind a router, that is your router's public IP - and don't forget to forward the ports 25 and 110 to your server. If you have a dynamic IP address, I recommend that you use a hostname from dyndns.org.
