I have an existing server based upon the above tutorial. I want to add ISPConfig, however I'm married to pureftp.
Can I use pureftp instead of proftp?
Thanks

You mix up ispconfig 2 and 3 here. You posted in the ispconfig 3 forum but refer to a ispconfig 2 tutorial. So what do you want to do? ISPConfig 3 uses pure-ftpd but the setup that you used to install your server is for ispconfig 2 and not 3 and it is completely incompatible with ispconfig 3.

I haven't installed ispconfig yet.
So what I want to use is ispconfig 3. I'll reinstall the server if necessary. Is this server setup the right one?
http://www.ispconfig.org/docs/INSTALL_UBUNTU_8.04.txt
I notice two differences: MyDNS and Horde
Is it enough to remove bind and install mydns? Or should I start over?
I haven't install squirrelmail yet, can I use either Squirrelmail or Horde?
Thank you.

Thanks Motlive.
What I needed to know was since I never installed ispconfig 2, can I just modify Ubuntu 8.04 lts as per http://www.ispconfig.org/docs/INSTALL_UBUNTU_8.04.txt?
Do I need to uninstall bind?
Probably Till will know.

@rusty: Why are you talking about ispconfig 2? The guide that you linked above is for ispconfig 3 only. ISPConfig 2 and 3 are completely digfferent software packages, so do not mix them up. The installation tutorials on ispconfig.org are clearly separated into a section for ispconfig 2 and one for ispconfig 3. Using a ispconfig 3 guide for ispconfig 2 is as if you woul try to use the windows 7 manual to configure ubuntu linux.
