I am trying to run my first time live setup of Ubuntu 5.04. The x-server
fails to load. Are there basic configuration scripts available?
Or how can I troubleshoot the configuration?

Thanks,
pohl

If you run the command:

startx

on the commandline, which error messages do you get?

I must reload. I'll be back with an answer in about ten.

I got it to load this time. I had not setup the right resolution for the screen.
Now I haave to study the basics. It has been over a decade since I worked with XENIX/Unix.

thanks,
