tar problems

I get this on certain *.tar.gz:

root@argo:/usr/local# tar xvzf portsentry-1.2.tar.gz

gzip: stdin: not in gzip format
tar: Child returned status 1
tar: Uscita per errore ritardata dall'errore precedente

It happens on some packages ... other don't !I still can't seee a logic on the way it happens :eek: .I have a debian sarge 3.1 2.6 .

Seems those packages are corrupt. I'd download them again (and check their MD5 sums if available).
