After a clean installation (Ubuntu 8.04 and Ispconfig 3.0.1.6) i realized that postfix is allowing connections without authentication... is this normal? wasn't it supposed to use the same auth as pop or imap?
... help

SMTP-AUTH is on by default. There are two scenarios where no authentication is needed: you send from a client that is listed in mynetworks in /etc/postfix/main.cf, or you send to a recipient that is on the server. Authentication is needed only if you send from a client not listed in mynetworks and to a recipient on a remote server.
