Hi,
ISPconfig will be very good solution for hosting when release some features like: dovecot, bind, mod_chroot, traffic quota, disk/bandwidth stats... supports. For 2010 can be the best secure controlpanel.
BUT ISPconfig needs other very important thing, it's a billing system. I think the best is whcms:
http://www.whmcs.com/screenshots.php
http://www.whmcs.com/demo.php
And prices:
http://www.whmcs.com/order.php
But whcms doesn't have ispconfig support. I was searching information and i only found it:
http://forum.whmcs.com/showthread.php?t=4070&highlight=ispconfig
We have 2 options:
1. Try to speak with whcms staff. They should win costumers adding ispconfig support.
2. You can post here other billing systems compatible for ispconfig 3, if you known it.

I am also interested in this topic as we're migrating from Plesk to ISPConfig. Does ISPConfig not have a single billing system? How about an API that a billing system might interact with, e.g. in terms of overuse, suspensions, creation?

The api is in process, we was speaking with whmcs staff and they will support bridge for ISPConfig 3.

API is not released yet. Some API code is available but some features are missing. We are waiting also for it.
Thanks

When the remote functions for all the billing things are working the same way like the email one, than i can easily add the missing functions which you need.

Are you refering to the ispconfig api?
Can anyone confirm when WHMCS might be compatible with ISPConfig ?

I'm very interested in that, too.
I tried to code a bridge (whmcs - ispconfig) as far as I could do it, because there are only a few options available in the remote API at the moment. It is not that complicated.
But if whmcs can do it it would be the best. I will ask whmcs if they are planning to do it.

Version 3.0.2 is released. Does the API work now with WHMCS?
How can I use it/install/configure it?
Rudolf.

Thats the wrong question ;) The question must be: Has whmcs added support for ispconfig and the answer is: no. The ISPConfig remoting API works of course in 3.0.2, but as far as I know, whmcs has not added support for it in their software.

Hi, so has WHMCS added support for ISPConfig now in version 4.3?
Hi Lukemob,
No they have not added support for it, i have been following on this in the whmcs forums and here and I am not sure why they would not add support.
Maybe Till can chime in and see let us know if he has contacted WHMCS recently?
thanks

WHMCS seems not to be interested in adding support for ispconfig so we decided to write a new billing system for ispconfig. It will be released in october.

Hi,
I am also interested in a viable billing system for ISPconfig3. Ready and willing to pay.
Please, let us know how things are going.
Many thanks and good luck!

Why aren't you developing your own whmc addon for it?
If you are not able to, download this as a client
http://www.whmcs.com/members/dl.php?type=d&id=14
and send it to me per pm or email.
I will have a look at it.

Hi Horfic,
We've been meaning to work on creating a module for WHMCS as we've made a few others for WHMCS in the past but just haven't had the time recently.
Here's the WHMCS module dev kit.
We'd be happy to work in collaboration to release the module, if you can help with the basics of the initial connection and API calls with ISPConfig we can finish off and tidy the module for release.
Thanks

Hi Germanius,
That's great news, will you be releasing the module open-source and do you need any help bug testing, etc?
Thanks

Hi,
If you need some help or bug testing, i can help you. I have already a small module (some bugs :( ) with create / remove customer but i have some problem with the multiserver environnement.
I think it will be good to have for example:
web server
mail server
sql server
And when you "create" the account from whmcs the module put the good server for all services.
Thanks :)

I dont think it will be opensource, because it took me many hours to build it. But dont worry, I'm thinking about a small one-time fee. In this case all further updates will be free. And I think there will be a lot of updates, because Ispconfig always change something with new realeases. So I always will edit/extend the module.
Here is a list of the features which are already working:
- Automatic client creation
o Clients are created with ISPC3 client templates. You can set different options for every hosting package
o All client features/options are supported
o Client details, which are transferred to ISPC3: Company name, First name, Last name, E-Mail Address, Postal code, City, State, Username, Password, Country, Language, Theme
- Automatic website creation (off/on)
o Readonly (client can’t change website settings) (off/on)
o ISPC3 domaintool: Automatic domain creation (off/on)
o All website features/options are supported and can be set for every hosting package (such as Ruby, SSI, SSL, … everything)
- Termination of accounts
o Delete the client and all services (such as websites, FTP accounts, mail features, … everything)
o Delete ISPC3 domaintool domains (off/on)
- Suspend accounts
o All websites are turned to inactive
- Unsuspend accounts
o All websites are turned to active
- Password changing
o Client and admin can change ISPC3 passwords
- Displaying login link
o ISPC3 login link in the admin area
Off/on means that you can choose if you want to turn it off or on.
I already wrote documentation/manual/tipps, that will be included, too.
Of course multiserver setup is working, too. You can set up the serverparams for every hosting package differently.

Thank's for the list :)
Did you have an idea on price /date?
Germanius
14th January 2011, 14:46
I thought about something between 25 and 35 EUR. May be 30 EUR including all further updates, possible bug changes and manual. What do you think? :)

30 EUR with "further updates, possible bug changes and manual" can be a good price. Tell me if you need some help or beta test :)

Okay, I will release it in the next three days.
Tomorrow I need ONE tester who doesn't use the domaintool function in ISPC3. Write me a PM please.
