# \R is replaced by the IP address the user connected from.
# \D is replaced by the remote IP address, as a long decimal number.

MySQLGetBandwidthDL SELECT dl_bandwidth FROM ftp_user WHERE active = 'y' AND server_id = '1' AND dl_bandwidth != '-1' AND username="\L"

This is connecting to non-local server, user is correct, password working, and it is connecting to same db which is on that server, and user has access from outside.

Any ideas ?

Might be a problem with your firewall. Try both, active and passive FTP.

Please enable debugging in pure-ftpd and then post the exact messages from the log.

You can set all these vars in pure-ftpd too, they are just split to different files. Just take a look at the pure-ftpd configuration and on the examples that we posted on www.faqforge.com
