How To Install GRUB 2 On Ubuntu 9.04 - Install to specific partition

Hi falko, great guide btw. I was just wondering, I have Ubuntu installed on /dev/sda3, with GRUB on the same partition, as I boot with a different bootloader, and chainload grub, so, will grub2 just upgrade the grub on /dev/sda3, or will it install it to the MBR?

Just wanna know before I take the plunge, I don't wanna overwrite my MBR, or else Windows 7 will break (again, long story)

That's a good question, but I can't answer it. I suggest you test this on a virtual machine first before you take the plunge on your production system.
