problem with subdomains

i have website domain.com (address for domain is www.domain.com) and want to have subdomains:
www.subdomain1.domain.com

What should i do ? i added a record subdomain1, i added subdomain1 as subdomain (redirect L to /subdomain1/) and still do not work :( ?

Why it is not as simple like in cpanel adn directadmin ? There You only add name of subdomain and everything work ok, here You should manually add dns etc and then still nothing work :(
