in The Perfect Server - Fedora 10 [ISPConfig 3] in page 4: http://www.howtoforge.com/perfect-server-fedora-10-ispconfig-3-p4 i saw the step:

Next we create our build environment:
mkdir $HOME/rpm
mkdir $HOME/rpm/SOURCES
mkdir $HOME/rpm/SPECS
mkdir $HOME/rpm/BUILD
mkdir $HOME/rpm/BUILDROOT
mkdir $HOME/rpm/SRPMS
mkdir $HOME/rpm/RPMS
mkdir $HOME/rpm/RPMS/i386

and ...
echo "%_topdir $HOME/rpm" >> $HOME/.rpmmacros

i don't know what is $HOME and echo "%_topdir $HOME/rpm" >> $HOME/.rpmmacros

can you explain it for me ???

$HOME is a shell varible which is set to the home directory of the currently logged in user. Just execute the lines as they are in the tutorial, no need to change or replace something manually
