what is the best linux distribution to start with when i'm used to working with windows ? :)

For desktop use I'd recommend Ubuntu. For server use, I'd recommend debian.

i've tried Ubuntu desktop already but it's not complete enough :s

i can't play mp3, wma,... files and to install the codecs it's too difficult
i must have a distribution that is complete enough so i can get to know linux and i don't put too much time into codecs and all...

Use that repository, install VLC and mplayer and all the codecs ...
