I'm wondering if it's possible to get Windows client(2000/XP) to log into a CentOS machine that is set up to run as a file server(if I can get it to do that) for a group of users no more than 10? Sort of like Novell but without the headaches and price tag? I'm very new to Linux and Unix but any links or help on the issue would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Rob

What you are searching for is the SAMBA server.

Here is just a howto for debian:
http://www.howtoforge.com/samba_setup_ubuntu_5.10

But you eill find many howtos for all linux distributions hwn you google for samba.
