I have installed SUSE 10.0 OSS and cannot get my network connection to operate correctly. I have installed and run Mandriva 10.1 and Fedora Core 5 without problems.
All of the correct drivers are installed and hardware was detected correctly. I am using a Biostar mobo with the nVidia2 chipset with built in audio and network controller.
I am behind a firewall called Smoothwall. I can ping other machines on the same network but cannot get any WAN connection at all.

Any ideas?

Your drivers may not be properly configured and i suggest you download the windows drivers and then install them with ndiswrapper.... and such... good luck

To me this looks like a firewall configuration problem...

I expected the responce of a firewall misconfiguration.
The Smoothwall is configured correctly, I can install Mandriva on the same box and it works just fine, also same with Windows. I tried disabling the SUSE firewall but it made no difference.

The output of ifconfig and route -nee reveal no problems.

But if you can ping other hosts in your local network, then the network on your SuSE system is working. The only thing I can think of then is the firewall.

What's the output of iptables -L?
