Where exactly are you having problems?

I cannot find that model in the openprinting.org database, only the MP160 model which doesn't seem to work on Linux: http://openprinting.org/show_printer.cgi?recnum=Canon-mp_160

Yes, it seems as if you must use another printer. Please check on http://openprinting.org if the model is supported.
