Hi just a quick question.
Would i accruate in saying during installation of ispconfig when it asks you enter a email that the email address <---- which can be any domain that you have to enter the postmaster@domain.com email address???
Also if for example if you havent enter postmaster@domain.com email address during installation of ispconfig and you have entered for example admin@domain.com that this is the default relay address for postmaster and abuse ???
Why i ask this is when i do a dns quiery for the domain i get these errors
WARNING: One or more of your mailservers does not accept mail to abuse@domain.com. Mailservers are expected by RFC2142 (http://www.dnsstuff.com/pages/rfc2142.htm) to accept mail to abuse.
admin.domain.com's abuse response:
>>> RCPT TO:<abuse@domain.com>
<<< 554 <abuse@domain.com>: Relay access deniedERROR: One or more of your mailservers does not accept mail to postmaster@domain.com (postmaster@baktim.com). Mailservers are required (RFC822 (http://www.dnsstuff.com/pages/rfc822.htm) 6.3, RFC1123 (http://www.dnsreport.com/tools/rfc.ch?detail=1123) 5.2.7, and RFC2821 (http://www.dnsreport.com/tools/rfc.ch?detail=2821) 4.5.1) to accept mail to postmaster.
admin.domain.com's postmaster response:
>>> RCPT TO:<postmaster@domain.com>
<<< 554 <postmaster@domain.com>: Relay access denied
ERROR: I could not complete a connection to one or more of your mailservers:
postermaster.domain.com: Could not connect without glue or A record.
INFO Acceptance of domain literals WARNING: One or more of your mailservers does not accept mail in the domain literal format (user@[0.0.0.0]). Mailservers are technically required RFC1123 5.2.17 to accept mail to domain literals for any of its IP addresses. Not accepting domain literals can make it more difficult to test your mailserver, and can prevent you from receiving E-mail from people reporting problems with your mailserver. However, it is unlikely that any problems will occur if the domain literals are not accepted (mailservers at many common large domains have this problem).
admin.domain.com's postmaster@[xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx] response:
>>> RCPT TO:<postmaster@[xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]>
<<< 554 <postmaster@[xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]>: Relay access denied
Also would i be right in saying to correct these errors and warnings i would have to rebuild the server and then reinstall ispconfig ???
Or is there a way i can correct this without installing and rebuilding the server ???
any help i would apreciate
regards
