need clairification on ftp

Ok I have ISPconfig up and running created a client and website a.mydomain.co

If I ftp to that site with out the administrator check box checked I list only /web. If I change that index file then check it in my web browser no change default page for ISPconfig

but if I ftp to the site with the administrator check box checked I have a list of directories other than just /web. If I make to the change to the /web index file the changes show up in the browser..

Just wondering what is the difference between the administrator box being check or unchecked.

You have to enable the adminisrator checkbox for the user, otherwise you are in the user web direcory and not in the main web directory. Take a look at the manuals for details.
