Error while building jabberd2

Good day!

I'm trying to build jabberd2 2.2.4 on a CentOS 5.2 box. But when I run configure, it shows the following error:

checking size of char... configure: error: cannot determine a size for char

Does anybody know how to fix this?

Is there a config.log in that directory? If so, what's in it?
