i am a newbie. i followed the guide to install my first email server.

Thanks For the great guide. I have some questions

1.Do Amavisd, SpamAssassin and ClamAV only scan for incoming emails ????
Do Amavisd, SpamAssassin and ClamAV scan for outcoming emails ????

2. Is the guide suitable for installing Postfix 2.2 + ????

3. when i typed " apt-get upgrade ", my system told me that postfix
postfix-mysql postfix-tls are available for upgrade.

server1:~# apt-get upgrade
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
The following packages will be upgraded:
postfix postfix-mysql postfix-tls
3 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 0B/988kB of archives.
After unpacking 4096B disk space will be freed.
Do you want to continue? [Y/n]

However, the upgraded packages are same version that i installed when i followed the guide to do.

server1:~# apt-cache show postfix-mysql | grep Version:
Version: 2.1.5-9
Version: 2.1.5-9
server1:~# apt-cache show postfix | grep Version:
Version: 2.1.5-9
Version: 2.1.5-9
server1:~# apt-cache show postfix-tls | grep Version:
Version: 2.1.5-9
Version: 2.1.5-9

Should i press "Y" to upgrade ??? Will this upgrade affect the quota patch ?

thank you so much!!!!!

for your answer on question one:

This is only on inbound mail in this configuration. It is possible to scan outbound mail... but it's not explained in this howto

question two:

when you update your postfix after your patch you loose the patch. When you want to update it, you have to recompile it again... I succesfully patched postfix 2.2 on Ubuntu Breezy Badger

If you want to use Postfix 2.2, have a look here: http://www.howtoforge.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1149&page=4
The format has changed for Postfix 2.2.
