x-server is not displayed

hi
I use fedrora8 as my OS and suddenly after upgrading the kernel. and restarting the system, a message displayed "x-server is configured incorrectly".

it allow me to go to the root
but then also nothing I could do.

I have nvidia 8600GT video drivers. which was preinstaled.
I am not unable to open my system.

what can I do now?
please help.

You have to recompile your nvidia driver for the new kernel, login as root and run nvidia installation script.
