After that there is nothing....
What is the easiest way to get to the desktop.. do i install gnome desktop or KDE?

i can only narrow it down to 2 things, either i have installed a weird version of mandriva OR not typing commands/installed it correctly...

Please help me out, its doing my noot in and i want to play around :P

Thanks in advance
Tom

During the basic installtion, did you select Gnome or KDE?
What happens when you run startx?

hey, i have tried this installation on both of them, gnome and kde... all with the same results, and as for startx, the end result is a Error of some sort,

ill give it another bash though
