I was worried for a second because it just stopped at **INSTALLATION for about 5 minutes with no further information, and not even ps aux showed any activity from it.
But turned out everything is okey, it works like a charm, thank you :)
(I was really troubled if it is going to work, after 2.2.25 had a bug of some sort which interrupted the update with a missing lib and had to reinstall the whole ispconfig after finding the lib :P It was on lenny btw, im using etch now)

Hi guys... am glad to see a new release for ispconfig... just one question though, does this release address the case wherein a single user update (like password change) would make ispconfig run through the entire user listing?

Firs, ISPConfig does never go trough all users, it just goes trough the users of that site. This behaviour has not been changed and will most likely not been changed in ISPCOnfig 2. If you need this, you will have to switch to ispconfig 3.

Till, is this
Workaround to get it to work on debian lenny:
Go to compile_apps , unpack openssl-0.9.7m.tar.gz
edit Configure and Makefile and change all instances of -m486 to -mtune=i486 .
Run
"tar -pczf openssl-0.9.7m.tar.gz openssl-0.9.7m" to repack dir, remove the unpacked directory.
Make sure you do this before running ./setup on any upgrades in the future until this is fixed in ./setup package.
Fixed in this release?

Fixed in this release? No, because I haven't been able to reproduce this, no matter if on i386 or x86_64 systems. I've asked Norman what processor he's using, but got no answer... :(

Update from 2.2.25 done without problems on Debian Etch x64
(except little problem in czech translation - sentences Traffic-Überschreitung: in web Basis: and Log-Grösse: in web Optionen
stayng not translated, it should be fixed only by importing old doctype table from 2.2.25, same thing happened when updated from 2.2.24 to 2.2.25, probably caused by german characters Ü & ö )

Do not import doctypes from older versions. This may cause loss of data in your setup. For example the customer databases can get deleted when you import a older doctype.
If a string is not translated, then add it to the language file.

I'm awared of this, but doctype hasn't changed since 2.2.23, i'm i right?
Translation is allready in language file, so problem is somewhere else...

That would be great! :) Maybe you can set up an empty VM for me (maybe OpenSUSE 11 because the problem was reported for OpenSUSE, but I guess any other distro will do as well) and PM me the login details?

I got exactly the same problem on a Ubuntu 8.04 LTS box running 2 x 933Mhz Pentium III CPU's on an Abit VP6 Mobo.
Tried a complete reinstall of the OS but couldn't fix it, even tried going back to an earlier version of GCC.
In the end I installed fedora 9 and it worked fine!

Version: 2.2.12 is what we are using now and it works GREAT, but it does have some bugs.
Like passwords can not be changed for some accounts after you have a certain number of users etc.

I've never had any problems with any upgrade, but if you want to go sure you can back up /root/ispconfig, /home/admispconfig and the ISPConfig database.

Hans

ISPConfig 2.2 is the Stable branch, while ISPConfig 2.3 is the development branch.
What Falko means is that you always can update ISPConfig 2.2.x to a higher 2.2.x version.
Don't update form ISPConfig 2.2.x to 2.3.x, as the MySQL database syructure is too different.
An update from any ISPConfig 2 version to ISPConfig 3 is not possible, the achitecture of ISPConfig 3 is completely different.

I've been able to reproduce the -m486 problem with radim's help. Thanks a lot! :)
It seems as if the problem can be solved by using OpenSSL 0.9.8i instead of OpenSSL 0.9.7m. Will test this on other distributions as well.

What does SECURITY WARNING: NO SUPPORT FOR DIGITAL SIGNATURES mean?
The ClamAV package requires the GMP library to verify the digital signature of the virus database. When building ClamAV you need the GMP library and its headers: if you are using Debian just run apt-get install libgmp3-dev, if you are using an RPM based distribution install the gmp-devel package. You’ll need to rerun ./configure and recompile ClamAV.

Why do you want to change anything then? Your clamav is working fine as it should, the digital signatures are not needed.

Yes, the naswer was for you. What you see is just a warning and the clamav warning messges sound always a bit hysteric but there is no real need to recompile it. It will not work better as a antivirus scanner if you do that.
I do not understand the procedure to rerun ./configure and recompile ClamAV.
The installation instructions for clamav can be found at www.clamav.org, the installation directory is /home/admispconfig/ispconfig/tools/clamav/ but as I said above, I wont recompile it if I were you.

Just did the upgrade and everything seems fine except it has suddenly decided to change the database names and database usernames ... so if I create a new database instead of being called webxx_db1 and a new user called webxx_u1 it has removed the underscore... sounds niggly I know but I've got a bunch of scripts that rely on the naming convention webxx_ and this suddenly changing causes all sorts of problems (especially as I only upgraded one server and am not sure if I want to do the rest). Any idea why this happened or, more importantly, how to revert to the only convention? If I add a new user it still webxx_<username> but for database and database users it does not...
till
14th October 2008, 14:01
The new database and user names are nescessary as a security fix as the underscore in the database username allowed users to access the databases of other users. Thats a problem in mysql and as nysql AB wont fix this, we had to change the usernames. You will have to change your scripts to follow the new naming scheme, there is no way to revert this.
