Installation: telnet localhost 25 in black

Hello,
I had installed ispconfig following the beatifull guide from perfect server for ubuntu 8.04 but when i going for the line in which i test the tls in telnet dont appear nothing in the screen:

I make telnet localhost 25 and the shell only show my commands. Its mean that the postfix or tls is not right? what could be?

did you do

ehlo localhost

as "perfect setup" says to do?

Never mind, i will install again, because apache is failing too.

If this happens the next time, please check out the logs in the /var/log directory. They should give you useful hints.
