Spare Hard Drive on the server controller has to be replaced

Hello,

I have encountered a situation where the spare HD (backup drive) has gone dead. The Raid is ok, but the spare needs to be replaced. Does anyone have feedback, or is there an article out there on performing this procedure on a Centos 5 Server?

Thank you very much for this information, as well as the information on Raid in general. I will take a look at this now. Can I follow these types if Raid 5 is being used instead of 1?
