I noticed that in /var/mail there appears two files that are a bit strange:
mail and
uucp
The contents of these files appear to be mail addressed to mail@oneofmydomains.com and uucp@oneofmydomains.com.
I don't have any users set up in ISPConfig with these names (although, of course, system-created users exist with these user id's).
Why is the mail server accepting mail addressed to these "nonexistent" e-mail addresses? Can I make the server reject it, or should I just purge these files from /var/mail every once in a while? By the way, my server is set to reject mail to unknown users and I have NO catch-all addresses set up.
Any insight would be appreciated! Thanks!
