All of them have been removed, just wanted to let you know.
I removed all these messages. Seems like the spammer had been able to got around our spam prevention techniques, so we will have to make them even better and the game will start in the next round :(

Thanks, I removed the posts already. Please do not post the fulltext of a spam message to the forum again. The spam messages cntain URL's and if you post the text again, it has the same effect then the original spam messge :)

why dont we have an intro forum for new members where they had to do an intro post and wait 24 hrs
while they are checked to see if they are spam bots or not ..
if not than they can have full access
if they are
its only an small area of the forum they can spam ....
well, I think users sign up here if they have a problem... so instead of being required to write an introductory post how about just introduce a 1h limit between postings for new users?

one good way of doing it
but if your an new member and getting help
an hour time between post is just mad ..
PS... the spam is getting a tab mad ..
the fun of spam bots :/
Todays spam amount was just too much, we know that :( We have switched temporarily to moderate all new users until we have some new anti spam mechanisms in place. I hope that we will be able to switch back to normal registration mode in a few hours.
btw, spambot "080522jk" did also register at http://www.ubuntuforums.org about noon CET and started spamming there... I noticed it and told then one of the mods in the UF irc channel...
Most effective solution would probably be some kind of captcha upon each post.... but that will upset other users.....
If I want to contribute something I normally hit quick reply and post ist... I normally don't wanna be bothered iwth some verifciation...
Maybe an option would be to play with the groups. New signed up people in the "default" member group will have to captcha verify.... older/trusted users are in a different group without limitation... an in order for being swapped from the "new default user groups" to the "trusted one" it will first require mod/admin review wehther the posts made so far are spam or not...

I've just upgraded vBulletin to version 3.7.0 and implemented Akismet. Hopefully this helps...
Interesting.... that's also a new feature with Akismet that the spam can be submitted to them, right?
I just did so with "need2Blove".
