Ownership issue

Hi there, I just finished up to deploy a intranet server and all what I did, was usin root login, but now what I do as admin is write protected and some internet programs, they can't run!!!

What can I do there??:rolleyes:

What is write-protected, and which programs don't run as admin?

Well actually is all files and programs like gaim and NVU.
I went to set user admin with all permissions but still, have to do everything under root user.

What to do?

Which linux distribution do you use? Did you install NVU and gaim with the packet manager of your linux system?
