i have a question about adding a second external mysql server to the phpmyadmin that comes with ispconfig. Is that actually possible, and hows that made?

Thats possible. You just have to add the details for the second server in the phpmyadmin config file in /home/admispconfig/ispconfig/web/phpmyadmin/
