Well I am going to try and add a new ipaddress so the postfix can use it to send emails.
Seems that the host gave me a block of IP addresses that are not doing well with Gmail/Yahoo bulk.
On one server without ISPConfig it was easy. I just changed the postfix settings so it would send from this new ip which is another subnet but really on the server of course.
Is it the same process for ISPConfig ie just edit /etc/networking/interfaces to show this eth0:3
Then /etc/hosts so it is in there.
Then /etc/mailname
Then /etc/postfix/main.cf as needed?

added full server name to the bottom of
/etc/postfix/local-host-names
-otherwise emails coming to the server bounced
Added IP address to the list if ISPCONFIG web interface under
Managment-->Settings-->Server-->IP List

One this subject can i add a eth:2 and the ip address and assign it to the mail server exclusively with no conflicts in ispconfig.

Also if i make a SSL site for a client would this be the correct place to the static IP?

sure all emails on the server show up from this IP?
For example client x uses their domain name mail.clientx.com
but the ip is linked to server1.server.com
Should they use the smtp server1.server.com t send?
Thanks
Al

It doesn't matter what hostname or IP they use as long as it's pointing to the right server.
