Well the install went well.. Everything is up and running just fine. No problem are anything buggy that I can tell soo far. I'll be doing some more testing on the box and writing a how-to on it in the next week or so. :D

I've tested and tested and tested.. I cant break the thing. So be expecting a how-to on it in a few days. Just to let others know that may not mess with sparcs.. They can be had pretty cheap if you shop around and they may not be fast.. but you cant break them.. you cant slow them down.. they just run and run and run. If you happened to want to run a box that would support a site say the size of ebay.. sparc will do it. you can pick up a 48 way 500mhz box with 36gigs of ram for about 4k... dont let the speed full you.. the damn thing will run forever.
Im testing on a dual 400 mhz box with 2gigs of ram. and it just works.. I can load test it and it doesnt have any speed loss at all. and the total cost.. 25 bucks... for the box... with a 9gig scsi in it.. upgrading the drive to a 50 gig .. another 30 bucks.. not a bad deal for someone that want something they can turn on and just walk away..

Hello,
on which SUN OS did you install the ISPConfig?
I tried to install but after OS check the installation aborted.
I have two SUNs running with Debian 3.1 Testing but the entry for
the CustomLog crashes my Webserver after a while. It seems that the
Binary used for the CustomLog is precompiled for i386 an not for SPARC. :(
Can you give me a little help on how to install ISPConfig on Solaris?
Thanks
Little

The binary used for custom logging is cronolog.
http://cronolog.org/
You can replace the binary that comes with ISPConfig with a binary that you compile on your sparc server.

Thanks, for your answer.
I compiled cronolog on my Server and restartet the Websever to take
the changes into account. There are no error messages at all in the
error-log of the Webserver.
Everything now seems to work. :D

I got around the Sun OS by installing Debian sarge 3.1 for sparc. I'm using an old Ultra10 333mhz.

I was just trying the most recent stable version of ISPconfig on a sparc (Sun Ultra 5) with Ubuntu 6.06 LTS. I got the following error:
