Postfix Problem

Hello

I am new but learning please be easy with me I am on my way to learning.
I have followed falko's great tutorial Virtual Users And Domains With Postfix, Courier And MySQL (Ubuntu 7.10).
I initially wanted to use dovecot instead of courier, had same problem with both which is

# telnet localhost 25
Trying 127.0.0.1...
Connected to localhost.
Escape character is '^]'.

It freezes here !!

Hence reinstalled from scratch thinking I have messed it up and followed the tutorial step by step with courier this time.

I have attached my main.cf and mail.log
Any help will be really appreciated.
