Hello all, kinda new to this, but followed the tutorials to the T, still having some issues.
Ive manage to get my domains all working jsut fine, and went to add an email account with ISPConfig, worked ok, then tried to send email from it, looks like it goes, but never makes it anywhere. When i send an email from my hotmail account to my website email account, it never arrives.
when i send an email from one account on the server to another, it goes instantly, but says web2_username instead of the correct email address.... Any ideas? Starting points? anything i can copy into here that might help get this taken care of? Thanks!! Need email up as quick as possible. Thanks so much in advance for checking this out!

Also im using Squirrel Mail for webmail. if that helps with figuring this out.
Is there any file i can copy/paste into here that someone can help look over maybe find a mistake somewhere? Waited a long time and still no mail coming or going. Thanks!

You must set the correct sender address in your email client (here it's Squirrelmail).

You're using Dovecot which uses MAildir. Did you enable Maildir in ISPConfig (Management > Server > Settings > Email)?

outgoing seems to work now as well, but still has the wrong information for sender etc. so i need to figure that part out i guess...
web1_adminptbinfo@example.com
is the address it wants to reply to... i sent an email from admin@ptbsolutions.info to my hotmail account, and thats the address hotmail picked up for it.. should i need to setup anything in the squirell mail?

strangly enough i can reply to emails now, but i cant directly send them... if i send from hotmail to ptbsolutions.info and then reply to it, it returns just fine with the correct info now, but if i try a fresh email from ptbsolutions.info to hotmail, it never shows up. any ideas on what to check at this point?
Thanks again for the help finally making some progress here.

I have the same problem.
Set it up exactly as the tutorials say. I can send mails internally. But no incoming or outgoing mails.
I know for a fact that my ISP has blocked outgoing traffic on port 25 but I should still be able to receive mails. They have a smtp I can use for outgoing that does not require authentication. I have not idea how to change the smtp on the server thou.
I got both A and MX records setup.
The server is server1.sn50.com
What can I do?
Ive been over this for weeks now.

Your mail server receives mails on port 25 as well. So if your provider is blocking port 25, then you can't do anything about it.
