Hi, I'm sure this has already been asked but is there a guide to installing a trusted ssl certificate for the ispconfig login on port 81. I've been looking for a while but cant find anything.

I'm new to ispconfig and would rather follow something incase I break it :)

Thanks

Matt

Hi

You can choose this when installing ISPConfig.

From the installation manual (http://www.ispconfig.com/manual_installation.htm):
Afterwards the following information has to be provided:

Please enter your MySQL server: E.G. localhost
Please enter your MySQL user: E.G. root
Please enter your MySQL password: Your MySQL password
Please enter a name for the ISPConfig database: E.g. ispconfigdb
Please enter the IP address of the ISPConfig web: E.g. 192.168.0.1
Please enter the host name: E.g. www
Please enter the domain: E.g. xyz.de
Please select the protocol (http or https (SSL encryption)) to use to access the ISPConfig system: If you want to use your control panel with SSL, select 1. You can then access it under https://www.xyz.de:81. If you want to access it under http://www.xyz.de:81, choose 2.

I would defnetly choose https.

Have fun with ISPConfig!

Hi thanks for your reply but I think you misunderstand my question.

I have set up ispconfig to use https:// but it is a self signed certificate, I want to purchase and install a trusted certificate to stop the browser throwing up an error every time somebody visits ispconfig / phpmyadmin / webmail

The certificate and all related files (e.g. the crt which you need to get an "official" certificate) are in /root/ispconfig/httpd/conf/ssl.*. Just take the .crt and buy an official certificate at one of the big CAs.
