Needs to move a site from one linux server to another

Am now to linux, and need help to move a site from one linux server to another. I access the server via SSh. I would appreciate a step by step approach, since am a newbe to linux. Thank you for all your help

lookup tar followed by scp or rsync to show you how to move the site as both rely on ssh to transit the files. there is simply too much scope to go into when thinking of sites such as additional apache directives, smarty, tidy, sudo, databases to write a simple guide,not to mention apache locations vary on distro. I would recommend a linux for newbies guide on the internet first.
