I am trying to install Debain (etch) on a system having adaptec 2120S RAID card.
It does not recgonise the disks. I think I need a driver.
Can anyone help and also tell me how to install an additional driver.
I will use Sarge if no driver exists for etch.

I don't know a solution to your problem, but I think it's pointless to try Sarge if there are no drivers for Etch...

I have found what I need to do for etch.
enable CONFIG_EXPERIMENTAL=y and CONFIG_SCSI_AACRAID={y,m}
Can anyone point me to how to create what I need to install on the RAID machine. At the moment it does not recognise any disk drives.
I do not normally recompile Kernels etc.
I do have working Sage and Etch systems.
Thanks
Chris

Take a look here: http://www.howtoforge.com/kernel_compilation_debian_etch
You must enable these options during make menuconfig

Hi
Thanks. I can do this on one of my etch machines.
If I create a new kernel (.deb), how do I create a CD to use to install etch on the machine with the 2120S RAID card?
Or can .deb driver be installed when asked for additional drivers.
Thanks
Chris
