n00b-HowTo make this work?

Hi all,

I just turned a win2k box into a debian 3.1 (sarge) box. I followed the perfect setup instructions and the install went well. Now I come to the section on configuring network and I get stuck.

Going from DHCP to Static seems simple to this newb here, but it isn't. I am having trouble getting the Edit to work. What command do I need to use to "Edit" the etc/network/interfaces file? :confused:

ok i reviewed the article and went back to make the changes to etc/network/interfaces. I typed vi etc/network/interfaces. I then typed all the info for configuring that file. I went to save by typing :x and I recieved, "Error: etc/network/interfaces: No such file or directory."

It's /etc/network/interfaces, not etc/network/interfaces.
